Mission The mission of the Adult Services Programs is to maximize self-sufficiency; to serve adults through programs that protect and prevent older and incapacitated adults from abuse, neglect, or exploitation; to prevent the inappropriate institutionalization of elderly and impaired adults; and to assist when necessary with appropriate placement. The Division of Aging and Adult Services works to promote the independence and enhance the dignity of North Carolina's older adults, persons with disabilities and their families through a community based system of opportunities, services, benefits and protections.
Provides assistance to aged/disabled adults to remain living independently, reduce social isolation, loneliness, and stimulate interest in leisure activities. The program is designated by the state to monitor certification compliance of (5) adult day centers in Guilford County.
